Acrylic emulsion process filtration

Acrylic emulsions are generally used in interior and exterior wall coatings. Some industrial coatings also use acrylic emulsions. Industrial acrylic emulsions generally have higher quality requirements than architectural coatings.

Acrylic emulsion manufacturers have their own different filtration methods. Generally, the front vibrating screen is filtered, and the package is packed at the back end.
Impurities in acrylic emulsions can generally be considered as impurities from pipes, agglomeration in polymerization, rubber blocks, etc., generally filtered by bag nylon mesh.
However, the bag filter for acrylic emulsions works well, but because it is colloidal filtration, the filter cloth is extremely easy to clog and is replaced once every one to two hours.
The filter cloth consumption is huge, which is unfavorable and the factory has saved production costs.

Self-cleaning filter is generally used in aqueous emulsions, when the requirements are lower or the quality of the emulsion itself is better, it can be used (as shown below)

However, for certain quality requirements, or for the poor quality of the material, it is necessary to meet the requirements of other filters.
Such as the back end of the nylon bag filter, the front section with self-cleaning filter, 2 sets of series filtration, to achieve filtration optimization
It is worth noting that in the filtration of acrylic emulsion, the colloidal impurities of the emulsion, the colloid will be deformed under the action of pressure, in general
The colloid does not wear the filter. The filter can intercept the colloidal impurities, but the deformation of the colloid will not be too small to just catch the filter. When the filter is clogged, the filter will fail.

In the case of filter failure, the filter should be changed. Rotary self-cleaning filter + bag filter or direct bag filter can be used, but bag filter is used directly.
